What Headers Will Fit? Empty What Headers Will Fit?

Post by The Blue Box Fri Oct 13, 2017 6:20 am

Ok so l've heard mixed things about header fitment in the econolines.  I recently picked up a built 200 to replace the worn out 170 and would like to have headers as the motor has a cam, bigger valves and a 2 barrel weber conversion.
Anyone know if theres a header that clears the doghouse?or am i gonna have  to do some cutting.  This is on a pre 65 van.

I don't know if there some that fit without cutting. But I know the common $200 stainless headers on Ebay don't quite fit in the doghouse and require either modification of the headers or the doghouse. Stanyon found this when he installed them.

You can see in the first pic in this thread where he modified the doghouse for clearance. You won't have the starter clearance problems he had though. He was using an 80's low mount starter 200 block.

Are those the single or dual outlet ones?

I have a new set of single outlet headers for a 200 I'm selling right now. I didn't use them because they would require approx 1" of floor to be cut out and the doghouse to be pushed out at the bottom. PM me if you would like more info. My truck is done and I'm clearing out parts.
