How hard is it to remove the rear engine box panel in a pickup ? How many bolts hold it in place ? I have removed the other panels before. I would like to install some floor to engine box gasket material (again) . But this time also seal the rear panel also.

mine had 2 from the top (corners) and 2 from the bottom

That's correct. The middle screw from the bottom is rather painful but doable because there's just not much space between the trans bellhousing and the screw.
for the two top screws at the sides you need a long extension for the nut. Easy, if it's not too rusty. I got the lower end of my rear housing remodeled by some body shop artist because it was pretty rotted and I had to rip it off rather than loosening the screws.
