67 MC brake switch Empty 67 MC brake switch

Post by Linoman Mon Jun 05, 2017 5:34 pm

Hi all been awhile since I 've posted, although I do check in periodically.
Anyways, the MC on my 66 was leaking quite a bit so I swapped in a 67 MC I had. I need a diagram of how the mechanical brake switch connects up to it so I can get the van back on the road. Many thanks. ~ Tim

I think the wiring is the same it's just a mechanical instead of hydraulic switch, at the brake pedal level instead of on the mc

The wiring is not an issue, I want to make sure I'm putting the switch on correctly so it does it's switchy thing when I depress the brake pedal because it is not lighting the brake lights the way I have it. I did jump the circuit and lights do work.

The brake lights in my '67 only work occasionally. Tail lights are fine, hazards are fine....bad switch? If so, do they still make them???

KISSfan, They still make the switch, my problem was I wasn't attaching it to the MC correctly.

scarlin, I'll only be at Bakers if I can afford new tires, while working on the brakes I noticed the current tires are very weather checked, so no out of town driving on them.
