I grew up in a house were there was always at least one car that saw more wrench time than drive time. I always told my wife that when things lined up space wise and finance wise there WOULD be a project car.
Things lined up.
I drove my '67 a100 25 miles home from the town where I bought it. It had one mirror, one working gauge, the gas tank was ratchet strapped to the wall inside the cargo area, no seatbelts, and it was arguably the best 25 miles I ever drove. Slant Six burbling away beside me, all the windows open so I wouldn't get fumed out, my buddies following behind just in case. It was great.
Fast forward three weeks, and I'm still loving it. I just had a 10 day vacation of wrenching, bbq'ing, Christopher Guest movies and sleeping in. During that week and a half I replaced the gas tank (www.vansauto.com) and associated soft parts, alternator, voltage regulator, battery and seatbelts. I made new door stop straps, refurbished seat hardware, made a new linkage for the automatic side step, refinished the side step, roll-on bed-liner'ed the cargo area, and made a custom walnut dash.
I have been trying to document my projects with pictures and videos. I'll post some pics here, and I have been posting videos to my YouTube channel (https://youtu.be/WBa6ehGx_AE)
This forum has already been a huge help, and I'm sure it will continue to!
