    Has anyone upgraded or used a different box then stock?
    Does any company sell new ones?

    Rock Auto offers a "return & rebuild" service for the early Econoline steering boxes. You send them yours and they rebuild it and send it back. Rock Auto rebuild

    do you know how long it normally takes for Rock Auto to rebuild? redhead gears has some for ours but are like $475

    I don't know. The work is done by Lares Corp., and the company suggests you contact them before sending your steering gear so they know it's coming. I bet they could give you a time estimate.

    I remember talking to Dennis from D D disc brakes that he used a Toyota truck box on one.

    Modifications would be necessary.

    If your gonna modify lots of things would fit.

    If you beg here long enough somebody likely has a good used one for sale.
