Road trip I hope

Planning on heading down to Orange Ca on the 9th or 10th...
Stopping in Modesto to see my daughter and then to LA to hang out with my sister for a few days... gonna see just how the van handles a long journey with the remodel in it now...

Lemme know if anyone is on my route! Gonna be running down 5 then 99 after Sacramento the rest of the way to the Grapevine... don't plan on mega driving it - just taking my time and moseying on down... same with the trip back north...

Would gladly stop and say howdy if the chance arose...

I will be! I have been checking on my laptop and how to use it safely out on the road along with making sure I have a way to charge it etc...

Gas buddy says it should only take me around $140 in gas for the whole trip doan and back... Planning on leaving Wednesday morning if everything goes right. Still have to finish more of the van interior stuff and then adjust the valves and check everything - including adjusting the brakes etc...

If you have the time, San Diego is a little farther south. Saturday the 12th is the "Vans by the bay" get together on Fiesta Island, they usually get a good turn out. I plan to be there.

I'll be in Orange, just a bit up the road! Will need to get directions once I get down there. Does it cost anything to show up?

Take I-5 south to Sea World drive, turn right, turn right, turn left onto Fiesta Island, follow road around to other side of the island. There's no charge.
It will be fun to meet you and others.

There is a group who drive down from the L.A. area but I don't know how to get a hold of them, maybe Donivan does?

Plan is to leave Wednesday... my daughter is going to be home then too! So the timing is working out okay. Now if the van just stays together! LOL I now have access to the directions you posted so I should be there if nothing goes wrong!

Other than a few last minute things, I am loaded up and ready to go tomorrow morning. If everything goes right, I will be at the van meet on Saturday...

I made it to Orange Ca at 11:00 - I am wore the hell out too!

Update: I have slept in the van two nights now and it is very comfortable! On the way down here I used a bit of oil due to the valve cover leaking and I tried a few minutes ago to tighten it - but since it is hard to get to and doing such is a huge pain in my back - so I didn't get it done... just have to buy more oil...

So I am down here near Disneyland - tomorrow morning I head down to the Van meet on Fiesta Island!!!

Take lots of pics and enjoy this fine weather. Hope the oil leak isn't giving you fits, an not too major. Can't wait till' I get my wheels an can hit a few meet-ups as well. Lets organize a bay area Meet-Up for 2017. Too soon ?

Weird, I tried posting something and it is not here now - hopefully this will not end up a double post! I had to go and buy a grease gun and grease and shoot the front end because of how much wander the roads cause! I figure every little bit of grease might help me!

He made it today to Vans at the Bay on Fiesta Island in San Diego.......
