Re: Drivers/pass door armrests ?
MY 64 (without armrest) has two quarter size sheet metal plugs that fit into those large holes. That were inserted from the face side of door.

Re: Drivers/pass door armrests ?
That looks familiar.. Guess I just forgot there clips on the bracket. I'm pretty sure I changed mine out for a better set and I MIGHT have a few parts. I don't throw much away
Worst case.. it's easily made

Re: Drivers/pass door armrests ?
Okay, an odd plate for nothing holds it in place, nothing appears to center it in the holes unless that was something on the arm rest, the bends in the plate must be for strength.

Re: Drivers/pass door armrests ?
Might not be correct, but why couldn't a guy use a piece of wood if he did not have the metal plate ?

Re: Drivers/pass door armrests ?
Wood would be easy, unfortunately it absorbs water and it does get wet in there, it would be like a sponge resting against the inside of your door. Piece of 1/8" x 2" strap painted would be a better choice.
I would still like confirmation that the plate in the picture is correct.

Re: Drivers/pass door armrests ?
Yes, the bent plate IS correct and is the mounting plate. The arm rest does "float" a bit until you tighten the screws up. That plate is correct for at least 1964-1967 without the plastic door panels.busman78 wrote:Wood would be easy, unfortunately it absorbs water and it does get wet in there, it would be like a sponge resting against the inside of your door.
