My son bought a 1964 Econoline Falcon this weekend. He'd been on a search for a "surf" type vintage van forever. Couldn't find an early 70's that wasn't a POS (he likes that body style the best). I showed him this one, we drove it, and now it's in my driveway!
I had a 1965 when I was his age so it's like going back in time.
Van is very straight, one small rust piece, rebuilt and strong engine with a C4. Runs excellent. Interior is very clean, seats are in great shape - has a small rear bench. The guy also added some cool stuff like the hand rolled dog house cup holder/organizer.
What is looked like when we brought it home:
All in all a perfect "first old car" for my kid, sound and solid but with enough left to do that he can make it his own.
The previous owner had painted the bumper, light grills, wipers, and mirror holder black so we cleaned all that up - looks much better silver IMO.
Here is a shot of the body ID plate. There is nothing where the paint code should be. Can someone decipher this and tell me what color it was originally and the rest of the build details are?
Thanks - this is a great forum.
Jeff
