I spent an evening trying to find the code on-line for my 65 when I first got it, no luck. Originally mine was red and these were the numbers.

Brian, it could be that your van was special ordered like with a fleet color from the factory, that paint code would correspond to the PO#.

I found it !!!! Rip, I never thought about special order and itruns, I never even considered two tone. I went back to AutoColorLibrary and sure enough on the back page of the chip chart they have it listed. If I read it correctly mine is two tone, light blue and ivory. I tried to find DanTheVanMan and Digz codes but had no luck. Thanks for the help. Brian

Found mine on the Duplicolor site. Shows mine as Met. Silver with a beige color roof. So, Two tone was sorta correct. Guess they painted the roofs a lighter color for some reason. Thinking it might have been a "Heat" from the sun issue.

Paint code help Empty Duplicolor site...

    Post by ChevyVanMan1 Tue Oct 20, 2009 8:20 am

was not able to find anything sensible on the Duplicolor site. Must have changed it since the last posting. Looks like they are just selling the generic paints they have in auto stores.

Would love it if anybody could PM me with a lead on finding paint codes for my 65 chevy van.

    Thanks and happy motoring, Mark

    Post by ChevyVanMan1 Tue Oct 27, 2009 12:13 pm

I've got a placard on my doorway that says:

    510AA

    609AA

Anybody have an idea of what colors, specifically, those are?

Any help is appreciated, thanks guys, Mark

    Paint code help Empty Idea?

    Post by ChevyVanMan1 Mon Feb 15, 2010 5:53 pm

    Also, I had an idea.

For those of us who are trying to keep our vans as original as possible but just don't like our paint codes, how 'bout we exchange placards. The placards seem to be the only thing that tell us what color paint (unless somebody scratches it down to original) the vans "should" be. Just an idea for any purists out there.

    Happy motoring, Mark
