Does anyone know if a driveshaft from a 65 3 speed falcon van would work in a 61 3 speed Econoline truck? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Drive shaft question..
No. 61 and 62 had a slip joint on the rear of the trans. 63-67 trans had the slip joint in the center of the shaft and fixed yokes on the trans. There is a difference in lengths on 61-62 depending rather it has a 170 or 144. There are something like 13 different driveshafts for Econolines. All depending on what combo you have.

Re: Drive shaft question..
If you have upgraded the transmission to the 1963-1967 transmission, then it might work.
See the transmission identification here.

Re: Drive shaft question..
You guys really know how to crush some hopes and dreams. Got a 65 with a 3 speed and a peanut. Got a 9 inch from Tim and I was hoping I could use the same driveshaft. Doesn't look like that's going to happen. Crap, another couple of bills at the driveshaft shop. You know, it's getting harder and harder to hide the money getting put in the old truck from my wife.

That is a fairly easy fix, I think you are running the small six. Tim may can hook you up with the correct shaft. You can change the rear yoke to the little six trans and but thelarger yoke on it.
