Re: I need a drive shaft.
I had a shop make one from scratch for 230, since my old one was too worn out to balance.

I need to get some info straight my axle is a SS-1 basic stub and slip yoke type driveshaft with a single U-Joint at each end.like this
and both yokes bolt in with a single bolt in the middle. Is this a 61-62 trans or a 63-64 trans?

I am having drive shaft problems also... the driveshaft in your pic is what I had in my 63... I now have a 62 and tried to use the 63 tranny but the 62 drive shaft wont work... the 62 has the slip yoke attached to the drive shaft... ...

I finally got me a drive shaft i dropped it off at a local machine shop to get repaired and he wiped me up a new one for 150 "score"! I noticed about a 1/2 of play in my rear end yoke should I just go ahead and change the ring and pin now or i it supposed to do theat?
