A local car collector was retiring and tucked away in among the million odd pieces of cra.... neat car stuff in his garage and sheds was this Clifford 6=8 intake manifold. $25 out the door. cheers

I know it won't fit in the doghouse of my '65 Econoline, but I did have an evil thought -- cut the flanges off, shorten the runners by 2 inches, and bond the flanges back on using a high-temp epoxy. Or try my hand at aluminum welding (done it before with mixed success -- and a couple catastrophic melt-downs  Embarassed )."

Of course, I saw one of these manifolds sold on ebay last month for $226 and didn't look near as nice....

Got my E-pup tagged and legal yesterday and drove it around the block just for grins. My next big adventure will be driving it to the gas station about a mile away for a tank of gas!!

First of all, Congrats on getting your EPup on the road! cheers

Second, I wouldn't mess with that manifold and risk ruining it. Maybe if you sell it for a nice profit, that money could be used to purchase something that would add to your EPup driving pleasure! Very Happy

Nice score. Use it as it is or like Vanny say sell it and get yourself something else you need. If you want to sell it let me know. Wink

I'd just pay someone with skills to do it for you... At the price you got it you could justify the extra expense!

I hate to admit I've done some pretty crazy things with a cutoff wheel and a sawzall in my life. But I don't know if I have the guts to cut up a perfectly functional and beautiful piece of work like this manifold. Still, here's a quick and dirty photoshop of what I had in mind. The manifold would easily sit inside the doghouse, but fitment would depend on how far the carb extended beyond the mounting points. It would be tight, no doubt about it, even with the cuts.

Great find! Going with a 2 barrel like a 1.08 or 1.12 venturi 2100 or a Holley 350 would help with that. A 4 barrel would be way overkill on a stock or even mild 240 or 300. If you shorten it would you still have clearance to the exhaust manifold?

Decided I would rather build a manifold from scratch. Sold the Clifford intake on E-bay and made a few bucks.... Cool
