Hydraulic brake switch Empty Hydraulic brake switch

Post by dnormansv Sun Aug 02, 2015 9:13 pm

Anyone have any suggestions for getting the brake switch off? This is a 64 A100. I spent about an hour trying today. There just doesn't seem to be room to get any tool in to try to unscrew it. It seems to be made from a cheap plastic so I'm not sure any tool will grab it without breaking it. Thanks.

Yes. There just doesn't seem to be room for any tool. I was hoping someone has removed theirs and had some tips.

Looks like channel lock pliers would do it,,,,,but you need to hold that T so it dont break off in the master cylinder,,,,,,,

Thank you for your help. I got it today. I tried channel locks, but there wasn't enough room to actually move them once it was gripped on. A regular socket didn't fit. I was able to use one of the gator grip sockets to get it off. It's the one that is supposed to be a universal socket. I got it on the brake switch and used an extension and ratchet through the hole on the floor for filling the master cylinder. I wanted to post back how I got it off in case anyone has the same problem at a later point.
