New to site, I have always wanted a Ford Econoline PU to use as a summer daily driver. Well I found a 65 (5 window) Heavy Duty PU w factory automatic sitting in a Midwest roadside building for sale. Body is in decent shape but currently not road safe. Current owner used as a summer driver (20 years) but parked it when multiple problems occurred. Question to group, is it both economically and mechanically possible to place 65 pickup on a modern rolling chassis for safety and reliability?

Yes you can place the body on a rolling frame, but it will not be very appealing with out a lot of work. These trucks are of Uni-Body construction with the frame boxes being welded to the body from the front to the back.

I think the tricky part of your plan is it's a cabover. All the controls (brakes and steering) are forward of the radiator...
