What is the correct size fuse to use for the alternator / regulator circuit for my '65 A100? The service manual wiring diagram shows a 61 amp fuse but this seems very high, even though a new alternator is rated at 60 amps. I'm replacing the alternator and regulator. The old fuse was 10 amps and was blown. My grounds check out with low resistance.

The ignition switch turns on the 6 amp fuse which turns on the voltage regulator,,,,,the voltage regulator turns on the alternator,,,,,,,these are 2 separate circuits,,,,,,,

Doni & Dix, That looks like a later model A100 wiring diagram with a 6 amp fuse shown.
Thanks, Sweetvan

Re: Fuse for alt./reg. circuit?
sweetvan, if you haven't already, go with an electronic voltage regulator. For the Mopar style ones, you have to have an alternator with 2 field terminals and you have to modify the van's wiring a bit.

Re: Fuse for alt./reg. circuit?
Glad I'm not the only one that went on a foolish hunt for a 61amp fuse. A 6amp works just fine. Mine blew when a couple loose connections on the back of the panel touched.
