Re: fuse panel ?
Don,
Is there any compelling reason to get rid of a functioning, 51 year old fuse box?
And, can you refresh me on the inline fuse for the battery? Can't recall what I need and now is the time.
Thanks!

Re: fuse panel ?
Slightly off topic, but still related... I have been thinking of updating my fuse box as well. Does anyone happen to know if there would be much difficulty in relocating it to say, the glove box or maybe behind the driver's or passenger seat?

Re: fuse panel ?
Look at this fine 1st Gen fuse box,,,,,,,spade terminals feed the whole electrical system,,,,,the terminals corrode,,,the rivets that hold the fuse terminals in get hot and come loose,,,,,and there is not enough circuits for your stuff,,,,,,1st gen need a fusible link that goes between the feed wire and the positive battery cable on the starter solenoid,,,,so WHEN, not IF, the wiring shorts out on one of those body clips it melts and cuts off the power to the whole van instead of catching it on fire,,,,,2nd Gens have them.....

Re: fuse panel ?
Thanks Don, I'm going with the universal. The original is everything you said. It's an old rusty trouble maker, I want nothing to do with it.
Thanks again ~ GK.

Re: fuse panel ?
Heres what also works for me - I usually remove the fuse panel. that being said= i use a light acid product that is water soluable- spray the panel- wait 5 mins & wash it off! Rust is =GONE!! doesnt hurt anything at all-reinstall wiring & any bad terminals & good to go. its made by zip chemicals - 5 gall. containers.

Re: fuse panel ?
Oreillys has some,,,,,,and its best to get one with a buss bar in it,,,,,,,one that has 1 wire in for power to all the fuses instead of you having to hook up power to each fuse that is in it,,,,,,,
