    Hi everyone Very Happy

Sorry ive not been on here for a while.....
Just a quick question about my 69 A108.

Since I bought her 2 or 3 years ago, most of the work ive been doing has been all on the inside.
I decided to change the tyre size the other day to 1.....make the steering lighter & 2.....get the gearing down a bit.
I had 225/75x15's on the front & 235/75x15's on the rear.
    HUGE balloons !!!!!
I got pretty used to the van looking tall & fat.
Anyway.....I've now got 195/70x15's on the front & 225/70x15's on the rear.
It looks pretty low & obviously has a bit of nose down rake too now.
A bit too low to be standard as it goes ?
I know its had new springs, new bushes & new gas shocks before I bought it.
So I had a look around & all four leaf springs look flat & the rear spring shackles look upside down to me (or should they be like that) ?
Usually a leaf spring hangs below a shackle, but on my van its above.
If its been flipped it would lower the van about 3 or 4" ?
The front looks shock but again.....the springs are flat.

    Any ideas out there ?
    Its a 69 A108 Bus with a 318 / Auto by the way.

    Many thanks.

your rear springs should be above the shackles

Like this, shackles up, axles will be centered, if you put the shackles down the axles will not be centered. I added a lift to my rear.

Yes, disk all the way around, thanks, only time it will look clean, once on the road the shine goes away.

I had a big response typed up and included pics, then it all went poof!
Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
    So here's the short version;
I measured 5 vehicles here (various engines, state of load and other variables) and the results are as follows:
Measuring from the center of the upper shock bolt to the center of the lower shock bolt, the fronts are 17" (431.8 mm) plus or minus a half inch (13 mm).
The rears are 19" (482.6 mm) plus or minus an inch (24.5 mm).
I'd like to see others measure this to confirm, but they all fell within a pretty narrow margin. If you have new springs, that would be interesting too.

    Cool.
    Thanks for the response guys.
Guess I just got so used to the huge tyres it now looks a lot lower.
I will do the measurments RodStRace.
    New springs, bushes & shocks.
So I guess is should be bang on.
I'll Post up the answers on this thread.
