My buddys 67 with a 240 sure runs hot,,,,,,,we put an electric fan in front of the radiator but that dont seem to help,,,,,,,however, if you leave the doghouse open, it runs cooler, so I think you are on the right track,,,,,,,,air cant get out of the doghouse fast enough to cool down the radiator,,,,,,I think he has some kind of squirrel cage fan under the van by the clutch fork and runs a suction hose up towards the carb and it seems to help get that air flowing out of the doghouse,,,,,

Had to run with the lid open Sat. not fun at all but I got home. I was thinking about putting a hole in the bed and back of dog house, dont know if I would need a fan or not, just seeing if anyone has used one back there. I borrowed this from another member here, hope he doesnt mind , but this is what I had in mind, either with or without a fan.

not sure if bvr wally is on here, but he has a rear defroster fan from a 70's mopar on the drivers rear side of his girls' early chevy. it pulls the air out of the box and dumps it out somewhere underneath. he said it works great. have heard of some other guys doing similar things.

I've been toying with the idea of using a bilge blower fan used to vent inboard boat motors to pull air from the doghouse and dump it underneath. They are fairly cheap and look like they would mount pretty easily.
