identification # info

I`m a early chevy owner and I`m going to look at
an a100 for a friend in Colorado and I need to know
how to tell the year from the id # any help would be
great. thanks

the different years had different tags . 68,69, &70 would all say 1969 or 1970 right in the vin, i'll look in to the earlier model years unless some one chimes in

1970 models have letters in the vin. The other years the tags differ a bit. I never saw a tag with a year of manufacture.

thanks Dix, it was a 68 and a rat at that looked
like a central Michigan vehicle, tons of rust and
not just outer body panels it was into the structure
everywhere.
