    Part Identification Empty Part Identification

Post by lboast Sun Jan 03, 2021 8:15 am

I was working on my 1969 A 108 behind the dash and stumbled across this plastic piece with two cam locks and a brown wire running under the cams. My Dodge friend and I have never seen this before. Do any of you have this on their van and what is its purpose?

Part Identification Empty Re: Part Identification

    I'm absolutely unsure, but:
    * yellow-black (plus the white wire) is used for the domelight,
    * brown is used for the tail/license light

Unfortunately, I did not find a picture of my taking apart the light switch - could it be from there?

Could you post a pic with the whole area? I could possbly get to my A100 the coming days to take a look/pictures.

    Part Identification Empty WIRE TAP?

Post by rekbender Sun Jan 03, 2021 11:36 am

Looks to me like some kind of a tap. Cam forces wire against a sharp pin, punctures insulation, and provides a receptacle for an accessory feed with a spade connector?

I will attempt to post a second picture that I took today of this unusual electrical device with the brown wire running through it. It is partially hidden by more wires behind the dash, just barely peaking out of the left side, but should give you an idea of where it is located, behind the instrumentsPart Identification 20210110
