Hello all. Its been a while.. sold the 1964 DCW/TW in the fall out of necessity.. I'd have customized it if I didn't..

Anyway, I just wanted to post this up for the fans of vintage van builds, and the preservation of the survivors... My friend just had something amazing happen, and it needs to be put out there for everyone to see.. The van is going to be reunited with the original owner/builder, and there will be a call to action to the van community in general.. Read:crowd funded effort.

Follow this link, its a great story.

Story will hopefully end with someone being able to bring it back to life. So sad to see them like this...Thanks for posting. I hope it gets restored because I love the 2nd Gen Fords and this one definitely deserves to be brought back before it's too late! Very Happy

Infinite Surf Custom Ford Van Empty Bringing the Infinite Surf to Portland

    Post by RRice25541 Wed Jun 03, 2015 11:41 am

Hello everyone in the van community, I'm Rick,,I'm currently working with Lou to bring the van from Cincinnati,OH to Portland,OR..
I'm a Transporter on Uship..err or at least i was until the ridiculous rules etc. on the Uship web site got my account suspended pending review.. My profile: http://www.uship.com/profile/RRice25541/

anyway..We are working on getting the van to it's new home, to get it restored.. But since my account is not active at the moment i can't book any loads for the trip back East.. So I'm hoping that by posting this , there might be a chance that someone here knows someone who needs a vehicle shipped from around the portland area to anywhere headed East. and then from that point further east etc.. until i get to around WV or so.
I know this a long shot, and i'm not sure it violates any rules this site may have etc.  if so sorry..I just really want to be a part of getting Lou his Van, meeting all his friends, etc., taking some Pic's and then helping someone else with there dream vehicle on the way back home or there bouts..

I know my Van isn't exactly vintage,,i used to have a 72' Chevy short wheelbase van,,3 speed in the floor and an inline 6,,but like a dipstick i sold it..wish i had kept it now

Would you just look at the Super Scoop... Sure wish someone would start reproducing them. I had the idea of using one on top of a Vista Cruiser, nice to see someone who actually did it. Any shot in the dark that someone has one stashed away... That doesn't want a kidney and a rib for it?

Well as it turns out I was able to deliver Lou's Infinite Surf van to him after all..even tho the transport i was supposed to have afterwards got canceled on me..
We transported a lowered S-10 from Oregon to Washington after we delivered the Van..and then delivered a 67 Dodge Coronet from Kentucky to Tennessee before heading home.

Hey Lou if you read this..tell your welding buddy that the weld job he did for us on the hand winch worked perfectly, the new issue that arose afterwards was fixed by using a washer between the fork to space it out from the large round part(It was rubbing) and now it works like it was made in the USA and not China LOL
