I used one of those water heater insulation kits from home depot, the thin aluminum foil backed stuff there was enough to do the sides , lid, and the back for $20. They sell the same stuff for hot rod firewall insulation for a lot more money.

Most guys GM, Ford and Dodge guys use a product like Dynamat, or Cool it or something like those products. For the Doghouse you have to have the high heat material

What's best to stick it to the inside of the dog house? Seems like the spray adhesive would get hot and let go.

if you go to a body shop and get them to weld the stud gun pins on the inside that works great. these are the ones they use to weld on and grind off after pulling dents from metal. i just used oversized speed nuts and then bent the studs over and that helps keep things in place. mine has not moved or fallen down anywhere inside the doghouse.

I've got the same stuff as nate from summit, going to give it a try in the next couple of weeks as I swap the 318 from the parts van into my pickup.

at all the home depots i have tried they no longer carry the same insulation - i did use the same back when i had the chevy - i found some at a local pep boys for right around 20 - dont know about all years but my dodge has the tabs that you poke thru the insulation and bend back - supposed to have some sort of plastic washers too i believe - oo3

those washers are more like cardboard than plastic, i have used insulitation for duct work at lowes, has the foil back and a roll of that foil tape cleans up the seams nice. cheaper than summit and works well.
