How do I best repair this? I do not have a welder, and am on a tight budget.
    Thanks.

While welding in new steel would be best, you could also fiberglass it. Basically small sheets of fiberglass cloth with a special glue. Put it on in layers, then sand it down when dry. should look like a Corvette when done.

Unless you cut that out and weld in new metal the rust will never stop. A fiberglass repair is just temporary. Putting fiberglass over it will not stop the rust and the glass will just fall off eventually. If you don't have a way to weld new metal in you should replace the door with a good one. Or find someone close that can weld it for you.

Does anyone have some pictures of how to repair the bottom of the door? Needing to know how to form/shape the bottom channel.

    Thanks,

Holy crap. What a resto. Good thing he is a fabricator/welder. Both of which are experience and skills I lack.

He learned a lot about sheet metal as he went along. It's all basic stuff. It's metal. Just cut and weld till there's no more rust.

Put that red rust stopper primer for now until you find a better door or have that fixed correctly. John Los Angeles, CA
