Exhaust pipe exit location Empty Exhaust pipe exit location

I'm re asking a question that I asked awhile back. Well sort of. I'm going to replace the mufflers on my 64 pickup. I was going to run full tailpipes with exits Behind the rear tires. But lately have been thinking of just having short tailpipe exit just in Front of the rear tires. Would exiting in Front of the rear tires create any unwanted exhaust fumes in the cab ?? And how much louder do you think it would in the front, as compared to the rear ? ?
It sure will be cheaper, and easier to use short side exits.

No, none, the factory did it that way for a reason, did you watch the O-haulin A100 and pay attention to what they said about the exhaust with the gas tank? And how much louder do you think it would in the front, as compared to the rear ? ?[/i] With a decent or perfoemance muffler, very little to none.[/i]

So from what you said, the tailpipe came from the factory with it exiting in Front of the rear tire. Were all A100s that way, or just the pickups ?

Pickups could exit the tailpipe before the rear wheels-ONLY!1 Vans only after the rear wheels- was a safety thing required! Must be aft of any passenger compartment!
