Can't find a 61-66 ignition switch, only a 67. Will a 67 switch work in a 66? The 67 has an extra terminal but plugs in the same on the remaining terminals. Also does anyone know what the extra terminal is for? Am I correct with the assumption that the center post is the "hot" and all the spades around it are grounds? If so the extra one would just be an extra ground and probably not an issue. Green Sales shows a different part number for the 67 switch than the 61-66 but all the parts stores around here are just showing the 67 style.

Re: 66 ignition switch
Those other terminals are juice to the coil, starter relay and dash gauges,,,,,,,that 67 probably got an accessory terminal,,,,,,,

So they aren't grounds, they are all hots. I don't like having an extra hot just sitting there exposed and not being used, that's if the 67 switch would even work on my 66.

Re: 66 ignition switch
You could put a Chevy switch in there if you wanted,,,,,,,looks like the 66 switch has 4 terminals,,,,,
B- battery/head light/ horn relay/cig lighter/alternator
S- starter
A- fuse box/volt reg/idiot light/current limiter
C-oil light/ballast resistor
I guess if you like the looks of a switch, any type can be made to work......
