Post by dulcimerbob Sun Feb 23, 2014 8:15 pm

Can someone tell me how to remove the ignition switch from my 65 ? I need a key and can take it to a locksmith and get one done for 10.00 . I want to remove the whole switch as I have no key to remove the tumbler.

    Thanks

The only way to get the switch out is unscrew the bezel,,,,the only way to get the bezel off is remove the cylinder,,,,,the only way to remove the cylinder is to have the  key, put a paper clip in the hole and turn it counterclockwise to unlock it,,,,,,,maybe you can remove a door cylinder and if it uses  the same key as the ignition, you can get one made,,,,,or a locksmith can pick the lock so you can turn it so you can remove the cylinder,,,,,,,or usually you have to drill and destroy the cylinder to remove the switch and get a new one,,,,,,and put down your location.......
