by Guest Tue Mar 24, 2009 7:13 pmi have found a 67 chevy no door that i can buy for a good price....the problem is.....i thought the vin plate was in the door jam, under the latch mechanism. what IS there.... are two rivets, about 3" apart, but no plate. isn't this where it is supposed to be? artwerkz (formerly paintr01)

Look on the crossmember in front of the gas tank,,,,,,right below where the fuel hose goes through,,,,,,,,also it would be on that crossmember in back of the tank,,,,,

The VIN plate WAS on those 2 rivets above the latch on the rear drivers side door post,,,,,,,,And now it could be on someones elses van,,,,,,so,,,,get the Vin off the crossmember, check the title and with DMV to see if someone has that van currently registered,,,,,,,
