Re: Backup Econoline!!
Strange.
There was an Econo pickup back in the 70's called "The Backup Pickup". I'll see if I can find some pics.

Re: Backup Econoline!!
To me that thing just looks insane!! I gotta give the guy props for being different. The only thing to me that I would change is the truck is too low and I am not much of fan of the rear window being replaced with the windsheld. However I understand why he did it. But still I am a big fan of this thing. Here are some pics of the Backup Pickup. Enjoy, MK

I like how the headlights looks like they belong there. It's weird, but cool all at the same time.

Re: Backup Econoline!!
I am glad you guys are diggin' this thing as much as I am. To my knowledge the Backup Pickup was cut up years ago. The red version of the truck was owned by a guy by the name of Hollie Swindle and he sold it to Galpin Ford out in California and it was driven by George "Hollywood" Tuers. George later when on to drive the Flashback 55 Nomad wheelstander. Anyway I believe the Backup was sold sometime in the late 70's where it was seriously altered with bigger tires and the box was cut off of it and a really light sheet metal one put on. Yes it looked as bad as it sounds. I will see if I can find a pic of it in my collection, I know I have one somewhere.
Of course the Gemini Cricket that was owned by Frank Monaghan has a cool story behind it too. After Frank crashed his first A-100 wheelstander also called Gemini Cricket he built a new one which was the backwards one. I guess he figured if the Backup Pickup worked then so would a backwards A-100. He only ran it for a short time then converted it back to a regular style wheelstander with the truck facing the right way. He ran that truck for years and then sold it to Diesel Louie Force (older brother to John Force). Louie ran the truck for a good number of years and then built a new wheelstander in the late 80's. I have tried to track down the Gemini Cricket but not much luck in that one either.
