I made a custom wrench with Z bend so I could get the bumper bracket nuts on the bolts without dropping the tank, still took hours!rocky69rhodes wrote:had to drop the tank to put on back bumper after putting it back up had to drop it again for the otherside cause I couldn't line up holesr" />

Re: Just bought a 1967 van
Looks like another Krylon Kowboy!!! I admire anyone who can paint with a spray can! Whenever I've tried, it just ends up with lots of runs and looks awful. Probably trying to put it on too thick for lack of patience!!

HaHa!!!!!!!!!!! I remember when my Dad painted our old 1948 Pontiac--- with a BRUSH!! There was then a auto paint u could apply with a brush as I remember -seen same stuff years later too!! The car came out very nice too - although --- u could see some brush strokes if u were close & looked hard @ it!! Stayed great looking for years too!!Never did peel or fade!! Likely had somegreat LEAD Base in it too !!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Just bought a 1967 van
Back on page 2, I see some pretty nasty rust on the roof line just above the rain gutter.
It's fairly certain that the entire roof is like that and will just bust through using a wire wheel on a drill.
What'd you do about that?

Re: Just bought a 1967 van
I drove it around the building once but the landlords say no more working on it on the property so I have to go next door to work on it
