Decided to just go ahead and start a separate thread for my recently acquired 1967 Econoline.
This is my first Econoline I have owned. While researching these vans I came across this forum, started a thread and received a wealth of information which helped me feel confident with my purchase.

Information from my tag states it's
    1967 E100
Factory 170 (now has a 240, not sure when this change was made)
    Assembly Lorian Ohio
    Wheelbase 90"
    Color Special Order
    Model E141 (HD GVW 4350 3/4ton)
Medium Beige crush vinyl and beige match stick pattern vinyl
    Ford 3 speed 3.03 RAN
    Gears 1=3.41 2=1.86 3=1.00 R=3.51
    Axle 7.25" gear 3.50.:1 2300lb rating
    Government order

The only history of the Van I know was from the seller, he stated his dad bought it off an old surfer from San Onofre, CA where he used it to drive back and forth to the beach. The van then sat for many years in his dads yard until he decided to get it running. He needed a daily driver and was selling so he could find a small truck.

Over all the van is in great condition. With all these old cars you really have to compromise on condition issues. For me I really didn't want to deal with a rust bucket and would rather address mechanical issues. I was very happy with the condition of the van. Has some rust and a few dings here and there but nothing major and I should be able to address all of the body work myself. At some point someone cut 2 holes in the roof and installed a vent and a swamp cooler. I will be removing those in the future and patching the holes.

I will have many questions along the way and figured this thread would hopefully help current members and future owners of these killer vans.

Here is the van when I purchased it

First issue to fix will be the brakes. I will create another post documenting this.

I ordered a rebuild kit as I have the 67 Dual MC and you can't locate master cylinders new.
    I have attached a few photo's
unfortunately the cylinder does have some wear. I would like to just send the unit out and have it sleeved, but at the end of the day I would like to save as much money to fund other items that will need to be addressed. My dad who has honed 100's of MC thinks we can ball hone this one. I will at least attempt to repair before sending off for a sleeve job. Why not.

I tried to take some photo's but it was very difficult to get a photo.

Also was the brake pedal pivot bracket welded like shown in the photo or was I lucky enough to have had a hammer and chisel mechanic get to it?

Nice 1967 shorty. Just what I'm always looking for.

They used cheap steel in the 1967 master cylinder, so you will want to sleeve it. Safety is important! You also need to change the brake fluid every year, since it is an open system designed to suck in moisture.

I honed out the MC and installed the rebuild kit. Purged all the old fluid out of the lines. Brakes feel good as new.

Picked up a 66 big six parts van. My van came factory with a small six and some hack put a 240 engine in. He apparently had the wrong oil pan and elected to cut and turn the cross member to accommodate this pan. He also still tried to utilize the throttle linkage vs changing over to the cable system on the 67 big six

My 66 came factory with the big six, big tranny and ford 9"
My immediate plan is to swap out the pans, change cross member and take the cable throttle system off the 66 and tune the carb. It runs like POOP!

Not even sure what carb I have, It appears to have an automatic choke and it loves to bog the insant I give it gas, then it sputters and not until I am at full throttle does it finally go! LOL

I'm confused what you're asking about the brake pedal pivot. It's simple to remove once the clip is taken off the end.

I was asking if that pedal came from the factory welded like that, or did some hammer and chisel mechanic at some point and time weld that up?

I realize that simply taking the retaining clip off would allow the pedal to be pulled from the bushing and removed.

I bet that's factory, mine looked pretty similar when I had it apart a while back.

Well as luck would have it, I find myself in a position where I would be better off delaying this project.

I will more then likely put this van up for sale to square a few things away. If anyone is interested I will sell the 67 Van and the 66 Parts van I purchased.

67 has the big six, and I just rebuilt the dual master cylinder.
The 66 has a factory ford 9, big six with complete cable throttle linkage, big trans, killer steering wheel, correct cross member, good doghouse, stock wheels etc...

PM if you are interested. 67 is currently registered located in SoCal
