I am in the machining work stage of building a 230 with a 250 crank. Looking for do's and dont's . I have the leo santucci book and it gives plenty of info on building a race motor. I am wanting to build a good street usable motor with a little extra kick. So far the block will have to go .060 over. The head will be milled .060 to raise the compression a bit. I understand that you can use 307 flat top pistons to raise the compression as well. I keep reading not to use a clifford manifold because it leans more to high rpm power gains and the offenhauser is better suited for mid range torque. Then I read that the clifford headers are good yet they don't seal well and don't match the intake well causing the intake to leak.
