I'd just leave the body/ paint completely as is. Roll it out on your choice of rims. Its uber badass and beautiful already. If anything, just have the bumpers and headlight rings chromed, but leave the rest alone. Your suspension work will speak for itself.

Re: Bagged 1966 G van under construction
Ok I have completed my first prototype wheel, I took a 18 inch Camaro steel wheel and used some online advice about taking it back to a 2 piece and changing the offset. I took it to another level...see the pics below
Now the plan is to color match to the vehicles paint scheme I am planning for.
the hubcap is a dodge B van cap and I am debating on it (retro rally look)
or a rat rod "spider cap" with the bullet center
I dropped the front end two more inches, now it sits level at approx. 1 inch from the ground
depending on the tire I choose, it may hit ground
Now I have mocked up my Heim joint bump steer correction tie rod set up, and I think its gonna work
Sorry for changing to thumbnail pics but if you click on one you like it lets you see it bigger/better...trying something different. Tell me if it works better for you guys....
This is the low point of the S10 sub frame

Fits right in there and you still have clearance below the pans! NICE!
I anticipate having to move mine up a few inches. (The transmission pan sits 4" below pinchwelds on my A100.)

Vary impressive!
Question; what are you using to connect the GM column to the Mustang II rack?

Re: Bagged 1966 G van under construction
Front wheel well getting tubbed , need more room all around for the 18 inch wheels
cut large area out, now need to start fabbing new tubs, after brake booster and steering column are done.
Building the radiator support for an upright aluminum 4 core with two electric fans, notice the gearbox and steering shaft I recently finished, sorry pics are a little fuzzy

Re: Bagged 1966 G van under construction
Liking all that !! Got to ask what you have for a radiator? Have something like that going on in a project I am working on. Leaned back and enough to cool a BBC.

Re: Bagged 1966 G van under construction
I bought the project with it, It appears to be 4 core truck style radiator... set upright and fill / cap relocated on top tank. Other tank has petcock and trans cooler in stock location, which sits at bottom. I may rake it more but it fits good. I am going to use an inline cap in the upper hose possibly too...dodge Dakota used this to help bleed air pockets that occur where radiator is lower than the engine. So you may wanna go that route...it also has a overflow nipple like a rad cap would.

Re: Bagged 1966 G van under construction
Thanks, I am running a down low rad with an inline fill on my Orange Van. Running 2 caps at the same pressure with overflows Tee'd together to a recovery tank. That works great, Tried 2 different pressures and it made air and forced out coolant a little at a time. Okay I will guess the rad width is 19 inches , How long is that thing?
