Re: Rest In Peace G-Man
Hi guys, I hope that you don't mind me posting here. I'm G-Man's daughter, April.
I'm here because I just wanted to say thank you for all of your love and support for my dad. He was amazing and all of your kind words show that. It really means a lot.
It's been over half a year now, it's been really tough and life will never be the same. Please keep him in your thoughts and remember that he really is getting everything ready for all of us. That's definitely who he was.
Hope to see you all at Baker's. Thank you again.

Re: Rest In Peace G-Man
Hello April.. ..I Hope you your family had a Merry Christmas.. ...I am so happy you logged on Vintage Vans in a way for me its like I am talking to your Dad again...Chris inspired so many people with his laughs and smiles and made us think things aren't so bad..!!!..I know everyone had there own relation ship with your Dad..For Me mine was special he came to Visit Me & my Wife on his vacation to Florida he gave me this plack as a surprise gift and I display it in my Van every where I go...He was one of the first people I met on this site he "Welcomed" me with open arms we were always sending little stuff back and forth in the mail sort of joking around when he called I would say stuff just to hear his laugh.. ..I have never made it to Bakers and tried every option last year we will try again this year....I still have all his PM's saved (Very Hard For Me To Read) and most all of the stuff he sent me I left in the unopened box's... I bought his "Keep On Truckin" poster and its still in the tube unopened..!!!.. He asked me to help with the posting in the For Sale section when he was here and now it is my "Mission" to keep it going... I think about him a Lot more than any other "Friend" I have lost and he will NEVER be forgotten on this site it was a BIG part of his life just like it is to me now..!!!..So I hope you guy's hang in there through the Holidays and know there is one more person that misses him Dearly....Joe Van & C-Van...in Florida.. .

Re: Rest In Peace G-Man
Thank you all for welcoming me. I did not want to cause any trouble. Your kinds post about him mean so much to me though. Seems as though that's all I have left of him. After awhile, people move on....which is ok. I don't think I'll get to that point. We were very close. He was a great guide in my life. It seems he was that way here. I wish I could tell you how he did all his searching and finding. I do know he was on ebay and Craigslist a lot...searching like a hound dog for vans and parts. He lived for you guys and the vans. It was all very important....and fun for him.
You all were truly friends turned family to him. I'm glad he had your support through his illness. It's hard not to be sad, but he was not of fan of pity on him. He would want you to keep on Vannin'.
Hope you all had a nice holiday.

Hi April, Your Dad was like with many others the first to really welcome me in. I have the 64 he was working on and it is kept warm and dry in my shop. Hardly a day goes by without thinking of him in one way or another. He was the "push" that kept me working on my orange van in the beginning. Good Times and a good friend.

Re: Rest In Peace G-Man
Hi April I had to say hi also. I have to think and know your father was a huge part of me finding my van with his dedication for posting for sales on the site. I also have a piece of him that I purchased from him not knowing he was ill... I purchased a shirt that says Show n Shine Van Nationals and I always think of him when I wear it. So I hope you still have his van and if so drive it.......Take Care... I too hope to be at Bakers.

Re: Rest In Peace G-Man
April, Thank you for posting on here and keeping in touch with us vanners. Your dad was one of the nicest people I have ever met, vanning aside. He and I shared some great times together and thanks to him I have a continued excitement about vanning that I didn't have before I met him. I'm glad to hear you will be at Baker's again this year. I was touched to see how much of his (your) family was there last year for him, and for us as well. I keep in touch with your mother via text and calls and please feel free to contact me for any reason. I will continue to run the Baker's show in honor of Chris for as long as I am able. Wishing you, your family, your mother, and your brother the best life has to offer. Billski

Re: Rest In Peace G-Man
His van was sold. I'm not sure of who bought it but it was at Baker's. Wish we could have kept it. Thank you all for welcoming me. I used to help my dad send out the Baker's emails and updates.
It really means so much that you all cared for him so much. Thank you for all your support and help when he passed. It's comforting knowing that he had so many friends/family who cared about him.
