Post by Guest Sat Feb 28, 2009 5:57 pm

I am having troubles posting pictures so I will try to post a link. It's a link from VCVC when sambowie was trying to sell his van. I found the van shortly after he posted it on the website. For those of you who don't know the story of the van; I found the van on ebay. The bid was only at one hundred dollars and best of all, it was about seven minutes away from our house. We bid on it but it went higher than we wanted to spend. My dad told me "Sorry man, we'll find something else." But secterly my dad won the auction. A few weeks later on my 16th birthday we go over to a friends house. He asks me to get something out of the garage. I go in there, turn on the light, and right in front of me sits a 1964 GMC Handivan. Words could not describe my excitement. The next day we drove it home and got to working on it. We noticed that when you hit the brakes it pulled hard to the left. We replaced the rear shoes, cylinders, and bled the brakes but it still pulled to the left. We had bought a carb on ebay and seince I had no money to start on the front brakes, I decided to put it on. Now the van runs great. I plan on doing the same to the front brakes as we did to the back, including converting to a dual master cylinder. We also need to drop the gas tank and check out the sending unit. There is still alot of work to be done but I just want to say thanks for all the valuable information you guys have given us. Heres the link...

Try this,,,,just make sure you know the name of your picture and where it is on your computer after you hit BROWSE. And you need to click a spot in your message so you can have a place for PASTE to do its job. That UPLOAD clears the screen after you add a picture so you can add another,,,,,,and sometimes I have to do this 10 times to get a picture to show up,,,,,,,I don't like this system.......so lets see if I got all the instructions right,,,,,

Thanks for your comments guys. Speaking of cragars, do you guys think I should keep them or go with some slotted mags? I have them both on my van right now because im trying to decide between the two.

    Ryan,
You should put Cragar's on one side and the Slotted Mags on the other. Then do a couple of walk-arounds and you'll know which ones. I like Cragar's but have a real soft spot for slotted mags!

The reason I have the slotts up front is because I had found a pair of 14x12s to put on the back for 30 bucks. but when I came back with the money the guy said somebody had stolen them. I will probably end up putting the cragars back on.
