For what it’s worth... 66 handivan
It has sadly come time to part ways with my van. She was very good to me but I recently put together a combination and I think this platform will provide certain limitations. She’s a 66 gmc handivan, good body and overall great condition. Worked th350, 3200 converter, 12 bolt w/ 3.73:1 and spool/6.0 Chevy engine with an oil pressure issue once warm under load. Aeromotive 340 in tank pump. -6an lines to and from. Wondering what a good price to ask for this is without ripping myself off or getting laughed at. Thanks guys.

Depends on your mindset!..... If you are looking to "unload", "off it", or otherwise get rid of it as though it's unwanted, then get ready for a parade of thousand dollar offers.....
If it's something that you are merely making available, but still covet yourself, you put a price on it that makes the other guy (not you) the "high bidder" for it......In your part of the country, that van should fetch $9k easy, and I wouldn't entertain accepting a dime less..... Let others give you hell for your price understanding that everybody is looking for a deal.... If it was you buyin, I doubt you could find one nicely painted any cheaper...

What is it running in the 1/4 mile?

It has gone 12.30 lifting the pedal (104mph). Has 11’s no problem.

I just pulled engine yesterday and I am just going to find a nice running 4.8/5.3 and put it in. I think that would be my best bet to selling without having to “sell it” to people. It has gone 12.80’s with 5.3 so it’s still a thrill!

That’s always the other option too. It isn’t costing me anything more than what I put into it. Choices choices!

I agree with AzDon, I would keep it.
If you're looking for a better drag vehicle, if you can swing it financially get a more suitable vehicle. I know that an early van is not the best for a 1/4 miler but that must be a blast and a half.

That van is sick. How was it moving the engine back? Seating is my number one complaint and getting the seat in front of motor would pretty much solve it all. The main money in this van is the computer (reusable anywhere) and the cooling system... but it was money well spent. My old system always left me fretting traffic but this will run at whatever you set the fans to. And on the highway you’ll see the temps hovering right at 178-180 (tstat setting).

Scott? Hey man. Thanks for a great van. It has been all the way to upstate ny with that 305 without a hiccup. You gave me faith in buying hot rods!

Hey guys. Appreciate all the kind words. I ended up going with a 5.3 from an 02 Silverado and stock computer/harness. I couldn’t bear to sell it.
