defrost vent set up Empty defrost vent set up

Post by mcVann Wed Apr 02, 2014 10:03 am

    Hello All,

I would like to get a link or a line on some defrost vents hook ups. I have a 63' eco and there are vents on the dash, but I would like to either fabricate the vent connections or buy them, let somebody else do the work 1st. is there anything out there? It would be from the heater hose up t the defrost to the lower connection to the dash vent, there is Nothing.

    thank you in advance

I no someone in here had a pic of those vents and were comparing them to shop vac brushes. They are so close it's scary. Don't no if this is helping or not, but take a look at those if you can't find any good originals.

They would be very simple to make if you have any fiberglass skills. The tubes are available. The vents went for pretty big bucks on ebay.

I'm going to have to do this too because while removing mine I stuck my thumb right through it. More like a wet egg carton!

I actually used thinned down white Gorilla glue. I wedged them over the corner of some oiled 1/2" plywood to retain and re-gain the shape and soaked them. Worked pretty well.

Just found this about the duct which I think many of us need and are looking for. It's not specifically for the econos but if it fits........

I have an extra pair of originals available if you want to go stock. I painted mine with fiberglass resin, same idea as the epoxy. I do like that plastic duct better though.
