front axle width?

I'm workin on converting my 67 to 4x4 with advance adapter to xfer case, but I want axles that don't stick out like blazer axles, but are both even, same length. so I need to know how axles are measured for comparison, and what "looks right." I know this is a matter of taste, but if anyone has pics with specs, that would be loads of help.

Not sure if this helps but, someone had a 67-70 van for sale recently with toyota land crusier axles in the back for it. Might be worth a look at these for width plus they are pretty much bullet prof

Here's a good reference from JP magazine.  Measure your front axle width and then compare it to the several front axles featured in this article.

Anyone know off hand what the stock rear axle width is?, (so I don't have to lay in the snow today!)

Just went out measured mine 63" hub to hub front sorry I didnt catch the rear axle part till just now i will get that aswell got it was like 63 1/2" wheel to wheel

you might want to grab the tires you going to use and mock them under the van and measure for a rear/front ends.
