drum brakes ? Empty drum brakes ?

Post by chopper tom Sun Mar 16, 2014 3:32 pm

do any of you guys know if 67-69 Camaro front drum brakes parts are the same as my 66 g-10 front brakes? they look the same ?
the reason I ask is I just swaped out a 68 Camaro from drum to disk, and the new drum brakes and parts I can get cheep if they will fit my van, will be some good extra parts until I switch over to disc's someday myself.

Backing plates are the only part that won't swap. I used 65 Chevelle drums on my 70 no door, because I got them free from a friend.

I have another complete set of 64 Chevelle drum brakes sitting around too. Might use them on the 65 to get it mobile, but then that will just delay the disc swap.

Yup. 65 Panel, putting a Pontiac OHC inline 6 in it along with a TH200 4R trans and disc brakes.

Got it just before all the snow came.
It's pretty much all there, and while it has rust, it's nothing I haven't dealt with.

I bought it from Digz, and it used to be part of gotavan's collection.

Those Pontiac OHC sixes were the bomb. Always wanted one. Are you going to tweak it all. I suspect, factory OHC, is much better powe than the Chevy 6. Thanks for posting.

For now, just stock 1bbl and a TH200 4R trans.

May go with a TBI fuel injection after I get all the initial bugs worked out with the swap.

Going with a 'phantom' Pontiac van theme.
