    Hi

does anyone know a good garage in that can lower my van

    dropped axle etc....

im looking to lower a couple of inched on the ride height

nostalgia sids sounds like a legend in this department in oklahoma

he is backed up 2 months of work and doesn't think he can fit me in

im driving all over the country so

    albuquerque

    dallas

    nashville

    cleveland

LA etc are all possibilities if you know someone that can 1) do it and 2) fit me in

the second option is to buy the parts from Sid's and have a go fitting them myself

in the archives=maybe in evan stuff?? this question is addressed before. There is a company that is doing some axles=dropping them up to maybe 6" yet I think 4 is the max???? With standard axles -when bent (dropped) the width changes -badly! so -more problems are made than needed. You can relocate the axle on TOP of the springs -yet ?? search arcives here. Smile

I plan to buy the parts from Sid to lower my van.
Then have Cory aka Wheelie do the work at his shop
His shop is located about 25 miles north of Dallas.

Axle on top of springs is by far the cheapest way to do it. Using Sid's or Mordrop type axle means it must be disassembled and all new king pins put in. If you need them great, if not it's an extra expense. Total job at least $500.00.
I believe I posted pics on site somewhere of the blocks I had made up to do my 62. I think mine are much nicer than the method used on the Gearhead Flicks van seen on their video on You Tube or on their site. Mine on my 62 are basically the same as the ones used on my 61 prostreet that Mike Ouellette built. Total cost about $100 with new U bolts.

That being said, is anyone on here running a drop axle on their early Econoline? One last thing to remember is a stock axle that's dropped (like Sid's) will be about an inch narrower each side when done which *may* cause interference depending on the wheels and tires used on it or it could be a benefit if having clearance issues on certain wheel/tire combinations.
