out of the list only the fuel pump may have shut the van off or as Digz stated a filter, tell them you want the old parts. and did you change the voltage regulator ?? it's in the cab above the brake pedel on the fire wall

Re: its a 1970!
sorry guys havent been on to respond to any of yours comments. however pretty much everything was sorted out. he said it ran good and didnt over heat. however i took it on a 15 minute drive and it managed to get hot. so i just put in a new 160 temp thermostat so we'll see how it goes. if it still gets hot then i am going to replace the radiator and install an electric fan. however besides the engine, i found some new seats! two buckets and a bench. the buckets were an easy install and then fit quite well, but i dont know how im going to install the bench yet. heres some pics.

if anybody has advice on mounting the rear bench thatd be great thanks

alight so slight update. i got what i thought were 15" steelies. however they are 14".
i really like the look of steel wheels but not sure i want 14". the tires are pretty bad so i would need new tires. right now i have 15" mag wheels with decent tires that i dont really want

Re: its a 1970!
algith guys its been a long while since ive been on and theres been alot of updates! The van has made it to the beach with little to no problems. shes gotten a set of new shoes! very nice im proud. I started making the bed in the back. etc. the only bad thing that has happened is when i step on the gas the van stutters. it sounds and feels like a carb issue. it will stutter for a bit and then stop then gain speed but it has a bad hesitation. only when i step on it though. In order for it to not happen i have to step on the gas very very gradual and slow. if anybody has an idea what is it let me know thanks! I want to buy a new carb anyway. so if theres a carb out there that people really like thatd be great. i have a 318 with 727 trans. a big carb is okay i want to get some power out of this engine! soon i will be doing headers and new exhausts.

had to bust out the hookah! i got many looks and such about the van. everyone loves it!

i met this guy to trade wheels. i traded my mag wheels. his van looked better with the mags and my van looks better with the steels with caps. very cool dude and good trade!

heres a piv of the van at my favorite surf shop. maybe i should ask them if they will do a vinyl wrap to promote there surf shop. there logo is on the wall!
here is the bed i started making. my girlfriend and i still have to upholster the cushions but it came along nicely and it worked for camping!

Re: its a 1970!
Looks like you've made some Excellent progress Jake!!! Love the look of those steelies and I think a wrap with that logo would look awesome! Maybe they'll pay for it since it would be free advertising for their business... It's great that you're now able to use it for what it was meant to be! Congrats on the van and the girlfriend who likes the van as well!!!
