Door pins Help. Empty Door pins Help.

I know this has been asked before but how do you get the door pins out of the hinges.
I tried to heat and beat them out with no luck, I thought about grinding the top of the pin off and hammering the pin down and out, but why not ask ?
Thanks for any help ~ GK.

I took a hacksaw and split the hinges apart. you are not trying to save any bushings or pins so cut them. it's a lot easier to deal with pieces than try heating the whole thing up and driving them out in one piece. I have done this with the hinges already removed tho not still on the van...

,,,,,,you get one good whack with a punch,,,,,it better move,,,,,,and you usually need to heat the outer ends of the hinges red hot for that to happen,,,,,,after that,,,,,you have to work harder to get those pins out,,,,,,,

So I'm probably going to take the door off with the hinges still on. Take the hinges off the doors, then work on the pins. I do have all new pins and bushings and the right size drill bits ( thanks to donivan ) to fix the hinges up. Hoping to get the van in paint soon. I'll show some pics soon.
As always thanks for the help ~ GK.

,,,,,you can just take one hinge off at a time,,,,,,fix it,,,,put it back on,,,,,do the other one,,,,,,,you really don't want to be drilling out pins,,,,,you might mess up the hole,,,,,,,,but you got to do whatever it takes,,,,,,,you might want to take off a hinge,,,,,put it in your freezer,,,,then heat it with a torch,,,,,with like propane or Mapp gas,,,,,maybe do that a couple of times,,,,,,that might help loosen up the pins,,,,then heat the ends of the hinge and try and punch out the pins,,,,,,,acetylene works best when you really need rust bustin heat,,,,,

I'm taking all the doors off because I'm painting the van. So I'm going to try soaking the hinges in kroil for a night or two then heat and beat. I'll let you know in a couple days. Wish me luck!!!
