I'm about to install a correct manual choke Rochester on my 194, '64 Van. Any one have a pic or two of the cable routing to the carb? My cable is OK but passes the radiator on the passenger side but will need to attach to the carb clamp of the drivers side from below? how did the original set up route the cable? Thanks.

The cable really don't care how it gets up to the carb,,,,,,,however,,,,there should be a clip for it by the alternator to hold it under the floor  before it climbs up to be attached to the carb,,,,,,

Outstanding!  I saw that clip under there, thought it was for the missing splash shield on that side.  I will re-route the cable so it comes up on the carb side.  A PO put an automatic carb on the engine and tried to hook up the cable in place of the manifold control device over the top of the valve cover so that's why I think it was routed on the passenger side. BTW, I did the wire mold just like you did for the long gone plastic rod guides, only I brushed some grease on the rods so the plastic lasts longer.

Silly me, I just looked through the shop manual and sure enough, there is an illustration showing the choke cable and throttle linkage set up and it clearly shows how it runs through the clips up the drivers side...duh, OK, I'm learning...thanks!
