Ya...lol...that's how it was when I bought it. When I took it off and sealed everything up better, I was gonna flip it around the right way...but I forgot.jbass62 wrote:Looks great, question, which way is the rear hatch facing? looks like the hinges are towards the rear which would make it open like a scoop? I just bought a similar one to replace the broken one the PO put in and I thought it should open to the rear with the hinges in the front, wouldn't high speed air tend to rip it open if its hinges at the rear? I would be a good way to force air into the back on warm days that way? Also, I've got a monster oversize dash hole too that I have to make a similar faceplate for the radio, looks there was a ham radio in there or something, my hole is 9" x 4"!
They worked with the factory wire harness. I put in a whole new AmericanAutoWire kit. So, they should be good, but if the new switch don't work, I will check those connections again (but since tail lights do work, idunno if that's where it is). I will also dbl chk what the kit calls for bulbs, maybe it uses little different than the van had originally? Like I said, the fun begins.jbass62 wrote:Regarding brake lights, remember, assuming all the front to back wiring is OK, they route through the turn signal switch, and those contacts in there wear out over time. I had to replace that as well as the brake switch to get mine working properly. The pedal switch has a gasket in there that dries and shrinks over time allowing corrosion of the contacts, that's what I found when I opened it up.
