    Alternator Mounting Empty Alternator Mounting

Post by Digz Sun Feb 08, 2009 4:50 pm

In order to keep some room on top, I'm wanting to mount the alternator on the 8 down on the bottom left. I was sure I had seen a pic of a real nice setup on Bills66 but I can not find that post for some reason (CRS). Any sources for a decent looking mount out there? Thanks Joe

Digz I used a low mount bracket on my 65 that came from Jeg's. It mounted the alt on the bottom of the small block on the driver's side. Chrome was less than $50.

I also have one one my 69, but got it from Summit. Shouldn't be a hard part to findDigz you'll find alot of people using that mount because the factory mount for a V8 was part of the exhaust manifold so if you put on headers you lose your mount.

Thanks guys! I wanted to be sure what I was looking at, Think I saw the one you guys are talking about ok, I saw another that looked like it be way close to the axle, that didnt look good to me. One other thing ,, it mentioned using a smaller dia. alternator on one of those, would that just be the newer 1 wire alt. ?
