    hey guys i have a 1966 chevy van and 3 on the column it gets stuck in 3rd gear and sometimes in 2nd how do i get this promblem solved?

    either the linkage arms comming off the trans are lose (tighten up ) or the bushings that the linkage rods go thro are worn out giving to much sloppy movment (replace bushings)

    how hard is that too do and where do you get the bushings?

    I'm not sure if the 1st Gens are the same as the 2nd Gens, but here is a thread on this subject. If it's not the same, I'm sure Donivan will jump in and will probably have photos as well.

    I think the thread is for a 2nd Gen which started in 67 so hopefully Donivan65 can jump in and tell you if the shifters are the same or not. Best way is to take a look at what is on yours and maybe take a picture or two and post them so the gurus on here can confirm what you will need.
