Chevbones' 65 Sportvan

Finally making a little showcase about my 65 Sportvan. bought it 12-2-12 from a guy in WI. found it thru the VV site. and I Thank you! still not sure if its a 230 or 250 has a 700r4 tranny and rear end out of a mid 90s Caprice, im told. ive done some minor things to it so far and ill post more as i go.
Before I found my van i was really looking!

This is the day i picked it up 60 degrees in December Cwazy!!

I saw someone else bought these seats, they were on sale $250 for a pair

Got the passenger side in yet to do the drive side.
finally got one curtain up. 9 more to go.

Thanks guys! Yes Dix it was already painted and metal work done by the previous owner, and his kid hand painted the tikis too.

Very nice looking van chevbone. And I agree those tikis are kool. Paint scheme I thinks works well on her. And I to have to say as well, it's great to see some younger blood interested in an early.

Well i figure its time to add to this post, Since i had a major malfunction with the wiring a few months back

I have to thank KookieKrisp, With out your help man id still be stuck thanks again.

Not being able to start or drive the van i had to pull it to a buddies to work on it... not the way Donivan would of done it, but it worked with no damage


As the van sat for 2 straight months not getting work done my uncle and his friend decided it was time to get me back on the road, so off again i had to move the van, this time was the safer way.... first time putting my new Silverado to work...


Here is the problem. previous owners chopped up the steering column and housing. All i have now is a steering wheel from a 64 Impala i had laying around, still dont have turn signals.



All new wiring done and a little tune up, and i was back on the road with a happy van


Since the van was on the roll again it was time to get the new rubber and freshly powder coated 14s on the van

With little time to do much I've just been collecting parts found a site that has some interchangeable parts for Chevys & Ford truckandcarshop.com

Got a Carter Carb off of Ebay


I also picked up a new Trans as my plan for the van is to get it back to stock as possible. I picked up a Powerglide last weekend came with TC

SHARP LOOKING VAN everything really blends together love those front seats what the heck was he thinking on that column. .Nice 64 it remind's me of my 62 Bel-Air keep up the great work and pictures. ..

Thanks JoeVan! It's getting there, slowly but surely. My plan is to bring it back to original as possible. I'm pretty sure the guy wasn't thinking when he cut the column up, just like they did to the dash to put in a newer radio.... Some people just cant leave a good thing alone....

Anybody have a spare steering column and housing available for a first Gen??????
