I mailed one through the post office into the US.

You must clean it out very well with hot water and detergent. and then wrap it up in garbage bags two or three times so it is air tight then wrap it in cardboard.

When you sign the slip for postage or with a courier the fine print says you are aware you are not sending unmarked "Dangerous Goods" it is a federal offence in Canada and is a $800,000.00 fine.

Another option is to hook a shop vac hose to you tail pipe and to the tank and let the motor run . For some reason this cleans all of the gas fumes out. Then just ship it as a new tank. Bob

    neondv8,
Another cool trick it to flush it with lantern fuel (White gas). It will flush and mix with any fuel left in the tank and evaporate very quickly! I have mailed tree with no problems.
