Re: My one owner 66 A100!
Thanks guys! I Got the front wheels all done with satin clear today.I got tired of blasting so I paid our shop hand to blast the rears tomorrow. Tires will be on by tomorrow afternoon for the fronts. I chose 195/70 14's. The rear rims are 15x7. I want to run a wide tire in the back. Any suggestions?

Those rims turned out Great! Good luck with the gas tank. That sounds like one of the most common issues when these vans are left sitting for a while. You're doing some fine work Cory. Thanks for sending pics!

I thought about that Dix but they look really good with the soft texture, the pics don't do it justice. Plus I like to be a little different.

Re: My one owner 66 A100!
My n.o.s. West Coast sunroof arrived today! On another note I have been driving the van on small errands. Everywhere I stop people stop and ask about it or tell a story. I'm having a lot of fun with it !

Re: My one owner 66 A100!
That's gonna look Kool Cory and from what I've been reading, people who own these Classics seem to always get thumbs up and hear stories because there's just not that many of them around...(Especially on the East Coast). Everyone seems to have a soft spot in their hearts for these old girls!

Re: My one owner 66 A100!
She's a keeper Bob. Don't take that for granted. I love my wife but she thinks I'm crazy to even think about buying one. She probably thinks I'm just trying to recapture my youth...And to that I say "Yeah, what's wrong with that?" If owning a classic van puts a little spring in my step, then I think that's a good thing.

Any photos of the ole gal with her new shoes? I have been dreaming about new ones for my gal, but got to save the pennies for the interior. I can still dream.

Re: My one owner 66 A100!
Sorry Dodger, not yet. I have had the fronts done for awhile. The rears are still in the middle of getting restored. I paid a coworker to finish them but we both have been buried in other work. We are trying to get them done this week for our Cars and Coffee meet this weekend. Pics as soon as they are on!!

Maybe run the flares on it until you decide.
Van looks great.

Re: My one owner 66 A100!
BTW,I love the look of those rims. If the extra space behind the rear tire doesn't bother you, just leave it as is. Just makes the wheel look a little off-center. Dare to be different I'm guessing maybe they had some rust and thought that would be the easiest way to deal with it???

Re: My one owner 66 A100!
The van is rust free but I don't know. It had rear fiberglass fender flares on it which I still have. Like y'all said prob gonna just put the flares back on it for now.

That sounds like a Great Idea! Looks Fantastic the way it is! You can always change it later if you change your mind.

Re: My one owner 66 A100!
To repair those wheel wells you could purchase a couple patch panels for the extended portion of a A108. They have the same contour. Weld them in and attach a thin strip to the edge?

Re: My one owner 66 A100!
Got a few things done today despite being really busy on other
projects. Slapped a cheap tach on it. Still need to finish wiring. I repaired the drivers door lock so no more climbing in from the passenger side. That was driving me crazy. I really need to finish up the fuel sytem so I painted the fuel tank and installed the new sender/pickup. I also still need to address the filler neck and red kote it as well. It was nasty. I had to pry the old gas cap off with pliers. I was bummed I had to ruin it . Anyways a few more pics...
