I've been working on getting a 64 ford pannel van . Haven't got the van yet hopefully next week . Its going to need to be restored . What I was wondering can the shell of the van be detached from the frame ? I wanting to start with the frame and work my way up . Or is it a unibody frame ? Just wondering thanks for the info .

Re: 64 ford van frame question ?
The "Frame" is a U channel welded to the floor, I have seen pictures of the pick up bed removed by carefully cutting the welds but never a van.

Re: 64 ford van frame question ?
I was just thinking if the shell of the van could come off I could start restoring from the ground up . No altering the van . Just make it like new from bottom up . I have some friends that have done cars and they would take the shell off and restore from bottom to the top .
