    Hi guys,

we have an E100 with a generator. Our van will be a show van with flatscreens in it (we make custom videos of cars)

Any info for converting to an alternator and if you have any knowledge powering a large tv on battery power with the engine off that would be awesome.

    1. Figure out how much power you need and for how long.
EXAMPLE: this one uses 12V power but does not list consumption. If you are using a DVD player, include it's power needs too.

    2. Once the power needed is determined, figure out what would be the minimum plus 10% more for adequate supply. Forget an alternator if the engine is off! Honda has a great reputation for quiet, powerful generators. The small one here is 1000 watts.

    3. If a generator does not fit into the planned scheme (indoor show, still too noisy), the other alternative is battery packs or external source (120V extension cord).
    4. Take a look at similar rigs at audio shows, car shows and equipment shows. Contact your expected venues and see what's allowed. They probably have dealt with this for many years and have rules/guidelines for this.
